Smartphone Camera Quality Explained

Smartphone Camera Quality: Explained!

What about guys in here so what makes a good
smart phone camera no more megapixels better no Spencer is the most important things of hardware when it comes to image quality there are good sensors there are bad sensors there are different types of sensors and there are large sensors is there a small sensors everything in between its hard to tell a lot about an image sensor just by the name or the numbers for this one thing I'm pretty much always rings true which is that when all of them things are held

constant a larger sensor can outperform a smaller one out of camera sensors and smart phones are pretty much always tiny not tight enough to get rid of the camera but I was still had in like a 99% of smart phones these days but I didn't see a lot smaller than your normal point shoot so its normal cameras have to rely on their own tricks to make a great pictures you might remember HTC's attempt at an ultra pixel camera back in 2013 of 4 megapixel camera that thing to be much better at all those things including low light here's what sensor to the piece of hardware responsible for turning all the light that hits it into electrical signals in kind of think of it like a grid of pixels the largest sensor I believe a larger than pixels and the more sensitive they can be too late but always smart phone sensors are all pretty tiny so ACC instead went with way fewer pixels of the individual pixels are much larger for better low light performance now for megapixels is still enough to have a decent amount of detail if you don't zoom in it all but most of the time with you smart phone. The other end of the spectrum with 12 16 18 19 equal sensors with you a ton of detail but I mean city will suffer Evermore and low lights so in front of the sensor is all the glass and all the lenses through which light has to pass to hit the sensor aside from the quality of the glass respect that matters the most here is the average return phone cameras are all sticks up for two lenses and generally the bigger the better because of the more like you can let and so the best smart phone cameras now have an F 2.0 sometimes even F 1.94 F 1.8 advertise which is great for letting like I said a ton of light in and also getting a little bit of separation between the foreground and background what does shallow depth of field one thing that you hit or miss is stabilization so soft for stabilization he is a station for trapped in a little bit of minor handshake if you get a little bit of blurry its good at removing that and not having that and images but in video content have a little bit of the jello of that but hardware stabilization or OS is awesome pretty much all the time it's much better for having longer exposures and while having shaking hands can still produce very sharp images is better for low light and it can produce much too much smoother video not every smart phone users or is and I did read sensor is incompatible with it the one it is possible is preferred how's life or not you're related to pay too much attention to like the number of a lens elements that number has been posted about before but doesn't really tell you too much about the quality of the camera and the bus design I wouldn't take too much attention to that either sometimes you can get something interesting like a ring flash or through LED flasher even as seen on flash but for the most part I avoid using a flash with smart phone pictures in the first place anyway I forbid it all comes down to processing every smart phone camera processes the images that come from that sense a little bit differently something to do a little more sharpening something to do with some do a little bit more noise reduction and some do a little bit less some shift towards warmer colors some shift towards cooler cooler some kind of saturation always keep it pretty tame some favor of bright exposure some sleep in a little bit under exposed to do one thing about photos is it's all subjective so you might have a smart phone that takes and objectively more accurate photo and then another one that takes a little bit less accurate but also more pleasing to the eye photo I've heard nothing nobody taking nice. On Twitter he did a blind test where it took the same photo but the Nexus 6 Steve and the iPhone 6s and I just 60 gave you know much cooler colors and a much brighter somebody to take over expose damage but it won the popular vote because it looked a little better to people despite being less accurate than a shot from the iPhone so find a word it's really hard to tell how good a smart phone camera babe just by the numbers, like it's hard to tell how well a car will drive by the specs on paper you already know until you actually drive it you get a good idea and a reviewer can tell you how accurate the photos will be and weather there are certain tendencies and processing but that stuff to be changing the software update anyway so at the end of the day it's you who will tell how good a smart phone camera is just based on how much you like the pictures of base with it thank you for watching please give you a better idea what I am talking about when I go deep into camera quality and the phone reviews and are more reviews right around the corner so thank you
